조길형 충주시장은 13일 국회를 방문해 정부안에 반영되지 못한 주요 현안사업들이 국회 심의 과정에서 추가 반영될 수 있도록 예산결산특별위원회 위원들을 직접 만나 지원을 요청했다.

이날 조 시장은 한병도 예산결산특별위원회 위원장(더불어민주당)을 비롯해 박형수 간사(국민의힘), 이재관 소위원(더불어민주당), 송언석 국민의힘 원내대표 등 여야 핵심 의원들을 잇달아 만나 충주시 핵심 전략사업의 필요성과 당위성을 강조했다.

특히 ▲충주댐 수열에너지 AI기반 바이오 특화단지 조성 ▲충주댐 수력기반 그린수소 인프라 구축 ▲충주 드림파크산업단지 공공폐수처리시설 ▲친환경자동차 전력변환 시스템 전력손실 평가 기반 구축 등 미래 신산업의 기반이 될 4대 사업을 집중 건의하며 정부예산 반영의 필요성을 강력히 피력했다.

또한 기획재정부 정향우 사회예산심의관을 찾아 사업별 추진 현황을 설명하고, 국회 증액 심의 과정에서 국비가 전액 반영될 수 있도록 협조를 당부했다.

조길형 충주시장은 “정부예산이 최종 확정될 때까지 이종배 국회의원과 협조체계를 유지하며, 충주시 미래를 견인할 핵심 사업이 내년 예산에 반영될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

이종배 국회의원도 “정부의 정책 방향에 부합하는 충주시 주요 사업이 정부예산에 담길 수 있도록 모든 역량을 발휘하겠다”고 말했다.
