13일 시에 따르면 올해 충주시청과 노인복지관 등 3개소에서 진행된 집합교육 162강좌에는 2,777명의 시민이 수료했으며, 찾아가는 정보화교육 89강좌를 통해 1,360명이 참여, 총 251강좌에 4,137명의 시민이 교육을 이수했다.

교육 종료 후 실시한 수강생 만족도 설문조사 결과, 응답자의 99%가 ‘만족 이상’으로 답했으며, 특히 강사 만족도는 ‘매우만족’ 97%, ‘만족’ 3%로 집계돼 전 분야에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

시는 이 같은 성과의 배경으로 ▲지역별 분산 교육장소 확보 ▲수강생 눈높이에 맞춘 SNS활용·자격증반·시니어과정 등 맞춤형 교육 운영을 꼽았다.

특히 시니어층을 대상으로 한 ‘강사가 직접 찾아가는 스마트폰·키오스크 교육’이 실제 생활에 필요한 내용으로 구성돼 교육 효과와 참여 만족도를 높였다.

한 수강생은 “그동안 스마트폰과 키오스크 사용이 어려웠는데 교육 덕분에 자신감을 얻었다”라며, “이제 SNS 모임에도 참여할 수 있게 돼 뿌듯하다”고 소감을 전했다.

‘시민 정보화교육’은 정보화 소외계층의 디지털 활용 능력을 높이고, 사회참여 확대를 목표로 하는 사업이다.

참여자의 약 76%가 50세 이상 시니어층으로, 시는 2026년에도 이들의 수요를 반영해 찾아가는 교육 확대와 AI 융합형 신규 과정 개설을 추진할 계획이다.

특히 내년에는 최신 기술 이해를 돕기 위해 ‘AI 활용 과정’과 ‘챗GPT 과정’을 신설해 시민 누구나 AI시대에 필요한 디지털 역량을 갖출 수 있도록 지원할 예정이다.

김주상 정보통신과장은 “정보화 격차 해소는 물론, AI시대에 맞춘 교육 기회를 지속적으로 확대하겠다”라며, “시민 여러분의 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁드리며, 내년에도 한층 더 알찬 교육으로 다시 찾아뵙겠다”라고 말했다.

한편, 2026년도 시민 정보화교육은 ▲소규모 일반과정(2월 개강, 충주시청 등) ▲시니어 특화과정(3월 개강, 노인복지관 등) 예정이며, 접수는 2026년 1월 10일부터 충주시 통합예약 누리집에서 진행된다.
