【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 단양군 가곡면은 지난 12일, 지역 내 방치된 비수거 영농폐기물(부직포 외 8종)을 대상으로 일제수거 활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 수거는 농촌 지역의 고질적인 문제로 지적되어 온 불법 소각과 무단 투기 행위를 근절하고, 주민이 함께 참여하는 깨끗한 농촌 환경을 조성하기 위해 추진됐다.

가곡면은 효율적인 수거와 관리 체계 마련을 위해 면사무소 뒤편에 압롤박스(폐기물 수거함)를 일시적으로 설치했다. 

이를 통해 농업인들이 영농 과정에서 발생하는 폐비닐, 부직포, 농약용기 등 각종 폐기물을 보다 안전하고 체계적으로 배출할 수 있도록 했다.

손문영 가곡면장은 “이번 일제수거를 통해 마을 곳곳에 방치된 영농폐기물을 신속히 처리하고, 주민 스스로 깨끗한 마을을 만들어가는 분위기를 확산하겠다”며 “앞으로도 지속적인 관리와 교육을 통해 불법 소각 및 투기 없는 쾌적한 농촌 환경 조성에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 가곡면은 향후에도 폐비닐과 농약 빈 병 등 각종 영농폐기물의 분리배출 교육 및 수거 캠페인을 정기적으로 전개해 농촌 환경보호에 앞장설 계획이다.
