【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군은 옥천문화원이 주최하고, 도시샤대학 코리아연구센터 및 도시샤대학 한국유학생회가 주관하는 ‘제11회 일본지용제’가 11월 13일부터 16일까지 일본 교토 도시샤대학교에서 개최된다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 옥천 출신 시인 정지용 선생의 문학 정신을 기리고 한글의 아름다움을 알리기 위한 한·일 문화교류 행사로, 황규철 옥천군수를 비롯한 옥천군·옥천문화원 관계자 38명 방문단과 재일동포 및 한국인 유학생 등 약 100여 명이 함께한다.

주요 행사인 △정지용 한글 작문 콘테스트는 오는 15일 도시샤대학 지성관에서 열리며, 교토와 오사카 일대의 재일동포 및 한국인 유학생 100여 명이 시 형식의 작문 실력을 겨룰 예정이다.

이어 △‘정지용 시 세계에 관하여’를 주제로 오타 오사무 코리아연구센터 소장과 임현수 데즈카야마가쿠인대학교 교수가 문학 강연을 진행한다. 또한 도시샤대학 교정에 위치한 정지용·윤동주 시비를 방문해 헌화와 참배를 진행하며, 참가자들이 한국 전통문화를 체험하고 의미 있는 추억을 남길 수 있는 시간도 마련될 계획이다.

일본을 방문한 황규철 옥천군수는 “이번 일본지용제가 정지용 시인의 문학 정신을 기리고 한글의 아름다움을 일본에 널리 알리는 뜻깊은 계기가 되길 바란다”며“한·일 양국의 문화 교류가 더욱 활발해지는 계기가 되기를 기대한다”라고 전했다.

한편 지용제 해외 행사는 중국과 일본에서 격년제로 개최되고 있으며, 지난해에는 중국 항저우와 상하이에서 열렸다. 올해는 일본 교토에서 행사가 진행됨으로 옥천군은 2년 만에 일본을 다시 찾게 됐다.

Okcheon Cultural Center to Host '2025 Japan Jiyong Festival' at Doshisha University in Japan

Programs Include Visits to Poetry Monuments of Jeong Ji-yong and Yun Dong-ju, Literary Lectures, and a Korean Writing Contest

Okcheon County announced that the "11th Japan Jiyong Festival," hosted by the Okcheon Cultural Center and organized by the Doshisha University Korea Research Center and the Doshisha University Korean Student Association, will be held at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, from November 13th to 16th.

This event, a Korea-Japan cultural exchange event, honors the literary spirit of Okcheon-born poet Jeong Ji-yong and promotes the beauty of the Korean language. Approximately 100 people, including Okcheon County Mayor Hwang Gyu-cheol, 38 Okcheon County and Okcheon Cultural Center officials, and Korean residents in Japan and Korean students studying abroad, will attend.

The main event, the Jeong Ji-yong Hangul Writing Contest, will be held on the 15th at Doshisha University's Jisungkan (Institute of Korean Studies). Approximately 100 Koreans living in Japan and Korean students studying in the Kyoto and Osaka areas will compete in poetry.

Following this, Director Osamu Ota of the Korea Research Center and Professor Hyunsu Lim of Tezukayama Gakuin University will deliver literary lectures on the topic, "On the World of Jeong Ji-yong's Poetry." Participants will also visit the Jeong Ji-yong and Yun Dong-ju Poetry Monuments on the Doshisha University campus to offer flowers and pay their respects. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience traditional Korean culture and create meaningful memories.

Okcheon County Mayor Hwang Gyu-cheol, who visited Japan, stated, "I hope this Japanese Ji-yong Festival will serve as a meaningful opportunity to honor the literary spirit of poet Jeong Ji-yong and widely promote the beauty of Hangul in Japan. I also hope it will serve as an opportunity to further invigorate cultural exchange between Korea and Japan."

Meanwhile, the Jiyongje Overseas Event is held every other year in China and Japan. Last year, it was held in Hangzhou and Shanghai, China. This year, the event will be held in Kyoto, Japan, marking Okcheon County's return to Japan after two years.
