이번에 공급되는 소독물품은 70% 에탄올(도구 소독용)과 도포제(톱신페스트)로, 과수화상병 감염 확산을 사전에 차단하기 위해 마련됐다.

과수화상병은 사과, 배 등 장미과 식물에 발생하는 세균병으로, 한번 감염되면 치료가 불가능해 과수원 폐원에 이를 수 있을 만큼 피해가 커 감염되지 않도록 예방하는 것이 중요하다.

올해 군에는 총 9건의 과수화상병 발생이 있었고 작년에 비해 약 56% 감소했으나 다시 증가하지 않도록 농업인들의 철저한 예방 관리가 필요하다.

군 농업기술센터 관계자는 “소독용품을 반드시 활용해 작업 전후 철저히 소독하고, 의심 궤양이 발견되면 즉시 농업기술센터로 신고해 달라”고 당부했다.
