【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군이 민선 7기부터 민선 8기에 이르기까지 중앙부처, 충청북도, 공공기관 등이 주관하는 공모사업에서 총 346건이 선정돼 총사업비 1조 5612억원의 예산을 확보하는 쾌거를 달성했다. 

군은 전체 공모사업비의 90% 이상인 1조 4266억원을 정부 주관 공모에서 확보하며, 정부 국정과제 및 핵심 정책 방향에 대한 선도적 파악과 대규모 사업 추진 능력을 입증했다.

특히 단일 정부공모로는 사상 최대 사업인 총 사업비 4873억원 규모의 ‘그린에너지 스마트농업타운 투자선도지구’가 지난해 국토교통부 주관 사업으로 선정됐다. 

군은 이 사업을 통해 음성읍 평곡·신천·읍내리 일원 36만평 부지에 친환경 에너지와 스마트팜 농업 단지를 조성할 계획이며, 지난 8월에는 스마트팜 복합환경제어 분야 세계 1위 기업인 네덜란드 ‘프리바’와 기술협력을 논의하고 파트너십을 구축한 바 있다.

올해 선정된 220억원 규모의 무극중학교 학교복합시설 공모 사업을 통해 학교 유휴 부지에 주민과 학생이 이용할 수 있는 수영장, 늘봄교실, 주차타워를 건립해 지역 주민의 정주 여건과 교육환경 개선이 기대된다.

민선 7기 당시인 2019년 문화체육관광부 공모에 선정된 음성 반다비 국민체육센터(217억원)는 지난해 개장해 7레인 수영장, 핸드볼장 규격의 실내체육관, 다목적실을 갖춘 체육시설로 활용되고 있다. 

음성생활체육공원(275억원)은 축구장 3면, 풋살장, 게이트볼장, 그라운드골프장, 야외 농구장 등 다양한 체육 시설을 갖춰 정주 여건 개선과 함께 각종 축구대회 유치를 통한 지역 경제 활성화에 기여하고 있다.

군은 올해 정부 공모사업 축소 및 정부예산 감소라는 어려운 대외 여건 속에서도 23건 선정, 1093억원 확보라는 성과를 거두며 ‘선택과 집중’ 전략의 효과를 입증했다.

군 관계자는 공모사업 총괄부서인 2030전략실을 중심으로 전 부서가 협력하는 원팀(One-Team) 시스템을 구축하고, 중앙부처 등 모든 채널을 전략적으로 공략한 것이 주효했다고 밝혔다.

앞으로도 군은 군민 체감도가 높은 지역 맞춤형 사업과 향후 대규모 공모사업 유치를 위한 정책 기반 마련에 주력하며 외부 환경 변화에 유연하게 대응하겠다는 방침이다.

조병옥 군수는 “민선 7기부터 8기까지 군민과 공직자가 한마음으로 노력해 이룬 성과”라며 “확보된 재원으로 백년대계의 기초를 다지고, 음성시 승격의 기틀을 마련하겠다”고 강조했다.
