의료급여수급권자 일반건강검진은 국가가 전액 지원하는 제도로, 올해 검진 대상은 19세 이상 의료급여 수급권자 중 홀수년도 출생자다.

검진을 통해 고혈압·당뇨병 등 만성질환을 조기에 발견하고 필요한 치료로 연계함으로써 의료비 부담을 경감하고 주민의 삶의 질을 높이는 효과를 기대하고 있다.

검진은 국민건강보험공단이 지정한 전국 검진기관(병원, 의원, 종합병원 등)에서 가능하며, 신분증만 지참하면 무료로 받을 수 있다.

군 보건소는 미수검자에게 개별 안내문을 우편 발송하는 등 검진 참여를 지속적으로 독려하고 있다.
