이날 충북교육청 적십자봉사회 및 본청 직원 20여 명은 대한적십자사 충북지사(회장 장현봉) 지역봉사원들과 함께 월오동 일대의 취약계층 12가구에 가구당 400~500장씩, 총 5,700장(530만 원 상당)의 연탄을 전달하며 지역사회에 따뜻한 온기를 나눴다.

윤건영 교육감은 봉사활동에 참여하며, “작은 나눔이지만 어려운 이웃들에게 따뜻함이 전달되기를 바란다.”라며, “앞으로도 연탄 나눔 봉사활동을 꾸준히 이어가 지역사회와 함께하는 이웃사랑을 실천하겠다.”라고 말했다.

한편, 충북교육청은 연탄 나눔 봉사, 농촌 일손돕기, 이웃사랑 김장나눔, 환경정화 활동 등 소외된 이웃과 지역사회를 위한 봉사활동을 꾸준히 이어가고 있다.
