이날 행사에는 최재옥 체육회장을 비롯해 지역 기관·단체장, 체육회 임원, 종목단체 관계자 등 150여 명이 참석해 화합과 교류의 시간을 가졌다.

행사는 1년간 군 체육활동의 성과를 담은 영상 시청으로 문을 열었으며, 이어 도지사 표창장 전수와 체육 발전 유공자 시상이 진행됐다.

시상식에서는 지역 체육의 저변 확대와 위상 강화에 기여한 유공자 28명에게 표창장과 우수학생 장학금, 단체상, 공로패, 감사패가 수여됐다.

최재옥 체육회장은 “올 한 해 증평의 체육발전을 위해 노력해주신 모든 체육인 여러분께 감사드린다”며 “군민 누구나 일상속에서 체육을 즐길 수 있도록 더 좋은 환경을 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
