【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주시는 12일 오는 2030년까지 향후 5년간의 미래산업 육성전략 마련을 위한 ‘2025~2030 충주 신성장육성 종합계획 수립 연구용역’중간보고회를 개최했다.

용역기관인 고등기술연구원 충청캠퍼스는 지난 2021년 수립한 충주시 신성장산업 육성 종합계획의 연장선으로 해당 연구용역을 지난 7월부터 진행 중이다.

시는 용역을 통해 지난 5년간의 산산업 육성 성과분석 및 새정부 기조에 맞춘 지역 특화산업 육성 전략 마련을 목표로 하고 있다.

시청 중회의실에서 열린 중간보고회에는 조길형 시장을 비롯해 자문위원, 용역기관 및 관계 공무원 등 20여 명이 참석해 연구용역의 추진상황, 주요 내용 등을 보고받은 후 전문가 자문 및 토론의 시간을 가졌다.

고등기술연구원 충청캠퍼스는 중간보고서를 통해 5대 중점산업(수소·바이오·자동차·이차전지·승강기)의 주요 성과를 분석하고 산업별 성숙도 진단을 통해 차별화된 성장 전략을 도출했다. 

또한, 새정부 정책기조와 연계해 ‘모빌리티-에너지-첨단소재-바이오헬스’ 분야로 5대 산업을 재편하고 분야별 육성 비전 및 목표를 제시했다.

시는 중간보고회에서 제시된 내용과 전문위원들의 토론결과를 면밀히 검토해 종합계획에 반영할 예정이다.

아울러, 최종보고회까지 고등기술연구원 충청캠퍼스 및 전문가 자문위원과 유기적인 협업을 이어가며 충주 신산업 육성의 청사진을 그려나갈 계획이다.

시 관계자는 “신성장육성 종합계획은 지역의 신산업 기반을 튼튼하게 만드는 기초 작업”이라며 “계획수립에 최선을 다해 중부내륙 신산업도시의 입지를 더욱 공고히 만들겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 시는 오는 2026년 2월까지 종합계획 수립을 완료하고, 산업별 육성 방향에 맞춰 충주시 신성장산업 육성을 위한 정책을 추진해 나갈 예정이다.

Chungju City Holds Interim Report Meeting on 5-Year Comprehensive New Growth Development Plan

On the 12th, Chungju City held an interim report meeting on the "2025-2030 Chungju New Growth Development Comprehensive Plan Development Research Service," which aims to establish a future industry development strategy for the next five years, ending in 2030.

The Chungcheong Campus of the Institute for Advanced Technology (IAET) analyzed key achievements in five key industries (hydrogen, biotechnology, automobiles, secondary batteries, and elevators) through its interim report and developed differentiated growth strategies through industry-specific maturity assessments.

Furthermore, in line with the new administration's policy direction, the five key industries were reorganized into "mobility, energy, advanced materials, and biohealth" and a vision and goals for fostering each sector were presented.

The city will closely review the contents presented at the interim report and the discussions of expert committee members and incorporate them into its comprehensive plan.

Furthermore, the city plans to continue close collaboration with the IAET Chungcheong Campus and expert advisory committee members until the final report to develop a blueprint for fostering new industries in Chungju.

A city official stated, "The New Growth Promotion Comprehensive Plan lays the groundwork for strengthening the region's new industry foundation. We will dedicate ourselves to developing the plan and further solidify the position of the new industrial city in the central inland region."

Meanwhile, the city plans to complete the establishment of a comprehensive plan by February 2026 and implement policies to foster new growth industries in Chungju City in line with the development direction of each industry.
