【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=조병옥 음성군수가 12일 모교인 음성고등학교를 방문해 3학년 재학생 150여 명을 대상으로 특강을 진행했다. 

이번 특강은 수능을 마친 고3 학생들에게 그동안의 노고를 위로하고, 새로운 사회로 나아가는 데 필요한 용기와 도전을 응원하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 음성군수는 학창 시절의 경험을 바탕으로 어려움을 극복했던 순간들과 9급 공무원으로 시작해 음성군수에 오르기까지의 도전과 노력의 과정을 소개하며 학생들과 진솔한 대화를 나눴다. 

이어 공직에 입문한 이후 다양한 역할을 수행하며 얻은 경험을 바탕으로 “매 순간 성실하게 최선을 다하는 태도가 결국 자신을 성장시킨다”고 조언했다.

조병옥 군수는 “각자의 속도와 길은 다르지만, 중요한 것은 자신을 믿고 앞으로 나아가는 것”이라며 “실패를 두려워하지 말고, 끝까지 도전하는 마음을 잃지 않길 바란다”고 학생들을 격려했다.

특강에 참석한 학생들은 “선배님의 실제 경험을 들을 수 있어 많은 용기와 동기 부여가 됐다”며 “앞으로 진로를 결정하는 데 큰 도움이 될 것 같다”고 소감을 전했다.

Eumseong County Mayor Cho Byeong-ok visited his alma mater, Eumseong High School, on the 12th and delivered a special lecture to approximately 150 third-year students.

The Mayor shared his experiences from his school days, sharing moments when he overcame challenges and the journey of his journey from a Grade 9 civil servant to becoming Eumseong County Mayor. He engaged in a candid conversation with the students.

He then shared his experiences in various roles since entering public service, advising them, "A sincere and dedicated attitude at every moment ultimately leads to personal growth."

Mayor Cho encouraged the students, saying, "Everyone's pace and path is different, but the important thing is to believe in yourself and move forward. Don't be afraid of failure, and never lose your spirit of challenge."

Students who attended the special lecture said, “Hearing about the seniors’ real-life experiences gave me a lot of courage and motivation,” and “I think it will be of great help in deciding my future career path.”
