【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=공립바른어린이집은 12일 증평삼보사회복지관에 지역 내 어려운 이웃을 위한 성금 45만7300원을 전달하며 따뜻한 나눔을 실천했다.

이번 성금은 아이·학부모·교직원이 함께 만든 ‘참여형 ESG 활동’의 결실이라는 점에서 의미가 크다.

어린이집은 일상 속 자원순환을 배우는 ESG환경실천 프로그램의 일환으로 ‘당근마켓&무인점포’를 운영했고, 이 과정에서 발생한 수익금 16만5000원과 ‘동전 모으기’ 활동을 통해 마련된 13만2300원, 그리고 교직원들이 자발적으로 참여한 기부금 16만원이 모두 어려운 이웃을 위한 성금으로 모였다.

특히 이번 활동은 ‘쓰지 않지만 버리긴 아까운 물건’을 집에서 가져와 친구들과 나누고, 다시 필요한 가정에 전달하는 어린이들의 작은 실천이 지역 나눔으로 확장된 사례다. 

학부모들은 판매 활동에 직접 참여하며 아이들이 나눌수록 마음이 자란다는 것을 몸으로 느끼길 바라는 마음으로 마켓 수익금을 이웃을 위해 사용하자는 데 뜻을 모았다.

공립바른어린이집은 이러한 경험 중심의 나눔 활동을 통해 아이들의 사회성·공동체 의식·환경 감수성을 기르는 교육을 지속해오고 있으며, 앞으로도 지역사회와 연결되는 다양한 프로그램을 이어갈 계획이다.

오종식 관장은 “어린아이들이 직접 참여해 마련한 소중한 기부금이라 더 큰 의미가 있다”며 “전달된 성금은 지역 내 복지 사각지대에 놓인 가정과 아동을 위해 투명하게 사용하겠다”고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.

신해숙 원장은 “작은 손길이 모여 큰 사랑이 될 수 있다는 경험을 아이들이 직접 느끼길 바라는 마음으로 프로그램을 운영하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 함께 성장하고 나누는 어린이집이 되도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
