【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주시의회 한동순 의원과 이예숙 의원은 12일 열린 청주시의회 복지교육위원회 예산안 예비심사에서 청주시 도서관의 장애인 접근성 부족, 수유실·기저귀 교환대 관리 미흡, 비도서(DVD) 서비스 실효성 저하 문제를 지적하며 전면 개선을 요구했다.

 먼저 한동순 의원은 오송도서관의 장애인 열람석 및 장애인용 터치 PC 설치 현황을 언급하며 “책상·의자 높이, 휠체어 진입 공간, 동선 확보 등 접근성 기본 기준 충족 여부가 불투명하다”고 지적했다.

 이어 “향후 집기 구입·교체 시 장애인 이용 특성을 반영하고, 전체 시립도서관을 대상으로 접근성 점검 기준을 본부 차원에서 마련해야 한다”고 강조했다.

 또한 한 의원은 DVD 등 비도서 자료의 이용률 급감을 지적하며, “단순 유지가 아니라 공간 재배치와 컬렉션 재구성이 필요한 시점”이라며 “DVD 존 유지 여부도 실효성 기반으로 재검토해야 한다”고 말했다.

 이어 이예숙 의원은 오송도서관 수유실의 기저귀 교환대 오염·훼손 문제를 질의하며 “수유실 조성 시점, 집기 초기 구성, 훼손 발견 경위 등 기본 점검조차 부족하다”고 지적했다.

 또 “교환대만 교체할 문제가 아니라, 위생·안전·프라이버시·접근성 등 수유실 전체 환경을 종합 점검하고 필요시 전면 리모델링도 검토해야 한다”고 강조했다.

 두 의원은 “도서관은 시민의 학습·돌봄 기능이 함께 이루어지는 핵심 생활공간인 만큼, 접근성·위생·자료정책 등은 부분 개선이 아니라 시 전체 차원의 통합 기준 정립과 일괄 점검이 필요하다”고 지적하며, 도서관평생학습본부의 적극적인 개선 의지를 요청했다.
