청주시의회는 본회의장에서 충북 지역 학생 연합동아리인 '충북민주시민연구회' 소속 고등학생들을 대상으로 청소년 의회체험활동을 진행했다. 대성고등학교와 신흥고등학교 학생들로 구성된 참가자들은 지방의회의 실제 기능과 조례 제정 절차를 익히는 기회를 가졌다.

이날 모의의회에 참여한 학생들은 의장, 의원, 사무국 직원 등의 역할을 나누어 맡아 실제 의정 활동과 동일한 과정으로 회의를 이끌었다. '학생 맞춤형 학교환경 개선 및 자치정책 참여 조례안'과 '청소년 교통비 무상 지원 조례안' 등 청소년의 삶과 밀접한 안건을 직접 상정하고, 제안설명과 찬반토론, 전자표결까지 거치며 토론과 합의를 통한 의사결정 체계를 경험했다.
