【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 단양의 체류형 관광을 통한 지역경제 활성화 방안을 모색하는 학술 논의의 장이 마련된다.

단양 출신 전·현직 전문인사들의 모임인 단양포럼은 오는 22일 오후 3시 단양군 평생학습관 지하 세미나실에서 ‘체류형 관광이 지역경제를 살린다’를 주제로 2026년 심포지엄을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 심포지엄에는 김문근 단양군수와 김영길 단양군의회 의장, 엄태영 국회의원을 비롯해 단양포럼 회원 및 지역 관계자 등 100여 명이 참석할 예정이다.

행사는 한국지방행정연구원 윤소연 부연구위원의 기조강연으로 시작된다. 이어지는 지정토론은 숭실대학교 박광영 교수가 좌장을 맡고 국립한국교통대학교 성보현 교수, 구본혁 단양군 관광과장, 유진호 한국관광공사 대외협력관, KB손해보험 김선도 팀장, 경일대학교 K-글로벌대학원 박소현 교수가 토론자로 참여한다.

토론자들은 관광객의 체류시간을 연장하고 지역 내 소비를 확대하는 것은 물론, 재방문을 유도하기 위한 정책적 과제와 실천 방안을 다양하게 논의할 계획이다.

홍성기 단양포럼 회장은 이번 심포지엄이 단양 발전을 위한 실질적인 아이디어를 발굴하는 계기가 되길 바란다며, 포럼이 가진 인적 네트워크를 적극 활용해 지속 가능한 지역 성장 방안을 계속 모색하겠다고 전했다.

한편 지난 2006년 결성되어 올해로 창립 20주년을 맞이한 단양포럼은 단양 출신 법조인, 교수, 공무원, 언론인, 기업인 등 120여 명의 전문인사가 참여해 고향 발전과 지역 현안 해결을 위해 활동하는 충북 도내 대표 출향전문인사 단체다.
