청주시는 청주고인쇄박물관의 건축물과 주변 자연경관이 조화를 이루는 야간 경관조명 개선사업을 마무리했다고 밝혔다. 이번 사업은 직지문화특구의 상징성과 매력을 높이고 시민과 방문객에게 새로운 야간 볼거리를 제공하기 위해 추진됐다.

시는 총사업비 4억 6천여만 원을 투입해 지난해부터 실시설계를 진행했으며, 국가유산청 심의를 거쳐 조명 설치 작업을 완료했다.

경관조명은 박물관 본관과 광장, 흥덕사지 등 총 3개 구간에 나누어 설치됐다. 본관 지붕과 활자 벽면, 출입계단 주변에는 라인조명을 적용해 고유의 건축미를 살렸다. 또한 박물관에서 흥덕사지로 이어지는 계단과 돌담길에는 스텝조명을, 산책로에는 볼라드 조명을 설치해 야간 보행자의 안전을 확보했다.
