앞서 진행된 1단계 기초 과정에는 시민 109명이 참여해 높은 관심 속에 운영됐다. 수강생들은 텍스트와 이미지, 영상 생성형 AI 및 공공데이터 활용법을 익혔으며, 중앙탑과 탄금대, 지역 설화 등 충주의 고유 자원을 소재로 디지털 스토리와 홍보 이미지, 숏폼 영상 등을 직접 제작하는 성과를 거뒀다.

충시키는 1단계의 성과를 바탕으로 한층 깊이 있는 콘텐츠 제작을 지원하기 위해 오는 27일부터 다음 달 11일까지 2단계 ‘충주愛 AI 프로젝트 스튜디오’를 운영한다.

2단계는 20명 규모의 심화 과정으로 추진되며, 생성형 AI와 공공데이터를 결합해 충주의 관광 및 문화 콘텐츠를 기획하고 제작하는 실전형 교육으로 진행된다. 교육 과정에는 텍스트·이미지·영상·음악 제작부터 데이터 분석, AI 웹앱 개발까지 다채로운 분야가 포함된다. 아울러 수강생들이 향후 시민 강사로 활동할 수 있도록 수업 기획과 시연 과정도 함께 실시된다.

충주시 관계자는 인터뷰를 통해 "단순히 AI 기술을 배우는 데 그치지 않고 시민이 충주의 이야기를 직접 콘텐츠로 만들며 그 경험을 지역사회와 나눈다는 점이 이번 사업의 가장 큰 핵심"이라며 "교육과 실전 프로젝트, 현장 활동이 유기적으로 연결되는 충주형 AI 평생학습 선도 모델을 적극적으로 확립해 나가겠다"고 강조했다.
