【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 음성군이 지역 내 성공회교회가 소장한 문화자원의 역사적 가치를 규명하고 체계적으로 관리하기 위한 조사 사업에 속도를 내고 있다.

음성군은 도지정문화유산 보수정비사업의 일환으로 진행 중인 ‘음성군 소재 성공회교회 일반동산문화유산 조사 용역’의 중간보고회 및 자문회의를 대한성공회 음성성당에서 열었다고 밝혔다. 이번 회의는 그동안의 조사 성과를 공유하고, 수집된 자료의 보존 및 활용 방안에 대해 학계 전문가와 성당 관계자들의 의견을 모으기 위해 마련됐다.

이번 조사는 음성·금왕·봉전·대소 등 관내 4개 성공회교회가 소장한 문화유산과 기록물을 목록화해 체계적인 관리 기반을 마련하고, 향후 문화유산 지정 및 학술연구, 음성박물관의 전시·교육 자료로 활용하고자 충북대학교박물관과 협력하여 추진 중이다.

현재까지 확인된 자료는 일반동산문화유산 88건, 기록물 33건, 사진 자료 132건 등 총 253건 297여 점에 달한다. 해당 유물에는 성공회 전례용품과 전적류를 비롯해 과거 교회 운영 기록, 지역공동체 활동 자료, 옛 교회와 교우들의 모습이 담긴 희귀 사진 등이 다수 포함됐다.

음성군은 이번 조사를 통해 확인된 지역 성공회 문화유산의 가치를 바탕으로 학업적·지역사적 보존 대책을 수립하고, 향후 건립될 음성박물관 등과 연계하여 지역의 주요 문화자원으로 적극 활용할 계획이다.

한편 조사를 수행 중인 충북대학교박물관은 중원문화 학술조사와 연구를 이어온 기관으로, 음성군과 함께 박물관 건립 관련 학술대회 및 연구용역, 교육 프로그램 운영 자문 등 다양한 분야에서 협력을 이어오고 있다.
