【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=진천군이 주민들의 독서 접근성을 극대화하고 독서 문화 저변을 넓히기 위해 운영 중인 도서 상호대차 서비스가 지역 사회의 큰 호응을 얻으며 자리 잡고 있다.

진천군은 관내 도서관 소장 자료를 원하는 장소에서 자유롭게 이용할 수 있도록 돕는 맞춤형 도서 대출 서비스 ‘책두레’를 가동하며 군민 독서 편의를 크게 높이고 있다고 밝혔다.

지난 2021년 9월부터 시행된 책두레 서비스는 진천군 관내 도서관이 소장한 도서를 이용자가 가까운 도서관으로 신청해 대출받고 반납까지 할 수 있도록 지원하는 제도다. 현재 진천군립도서관, 혁신도시도서관, 광혜원도서관 등 군립도서관 3개소와 생생덕산, 통통문백 등 공립 작은도서관 2개소를 포함해 총 5개 기관이 참여하고 있다.

도서 배송 서비스는 군립도서관 3개소의 경우 매주 화요일과 금요일 주 2회, 공립 작은도서관 2개소는 매주 금요일 주 1회 정기적으로 운행된다. 이를 통해 주민들은 5개 도서관의 다양한 장서를 한곳에서 이용하는 듯한 효과를 누리며 독서의 폭을 한층 넓히고 있다.

서비스 이용은 진천군립도서관 회원이나 책이음 회원이라면 누구나 가능하다. 도서관 공식 모바일 앱이나 홈페이지를 통해 간편하게 원하는 도서를 신청할 수 있다. 신청한 도서가 지정한 도서관에 도착하면 알림톡이나 문자메시지로 안내받아 수령하게 되며, 이용을 마친 후에는 5개 참여 도서관 중 가까운 자료실 어디에나 자율적으로 반납하면 된다.

김지인 진천군 평생학습센터 주무관은 인터뷰를 통해 "책두레 서비스를 통해 군민들이 거주지와 가까운 도서관에서 한층 편리하게 독서를 즐길 수 있게 됐다"며 "앞으로도 더 많은 군민이 이 같은 혜택을 다 함께 누릴 수 있도록 적극적으로 안내하고 관내의 쾌적한 독서 환경을 다지는 데 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.

이 서비스를 자주 이용하는 한 지역 주민 역시 현장 인터뷰에서 "읽고 싶던 책이 멀리 떨어진 도서관에만 있어 아쉬웠는데, 집 앞 작은도서관에서 편하게 받아서 읽을 수 있어 만족스럽다"며 "생활권 내에서 책을 쉽게 접할 수 있어 매우 유용하다"고 소감을 전했다.

Implemented since September 2021, the Chaekdure service is a system that supports users in requesting books held by libraries within Jincheon County to borrow and return them at a nearby library. Currently, a total of five institutions are participating, including three county libraries (Jincheon County Library, Innovation City Library, and Gwanghyewon Library) and two small public libraries (Saengsaeng Deoksan and Tongtong Munbaek). The book delivery service operates regularly twice a week (every Tuesday and Friday) at the three county libraries and once a week (every Friday) at the two public small libraries.
