【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군이 관내 교육 환경 개선과 교육 지원 사업의 효율성을 높이기 위해 교육경비 심의위원회를 새로 단장하고 본격적인 운영에 나섰다.

옥천군은 11일 군수실에서 ‘옥천군 교육경비 심의위원회’ 위촉식을 열고 새롭게 구성된 위원들에게 위촉장을 전달했다.

교육경비 심의위원회는 지역 내 각급 학교와 교육기관에 지원되는 교육경비의 전체적인 규모와 대상 사업의 적정성을 심의하고 의결하는 핵심 기구다. 교육 현장의 생생한 목소리를 수렴해 예산 집행의 형평성을 높이고 지원 효과를 극대화하는 역할을 맡는다.

옥천군은 이번 위원회 출범을 계기로 민선 8기 핵심 공약인 ‘배움과 돌봄이 든든한 교육도시 옥천’을 완성하는 데 박차를 가할 계획이다. 이를 위해 학교와 지역사회가 유기적으로 협력하는 교육 기반을 조성하고, 학생과 학부모가 피부로 느낄 수 있는 체감형 교육지원 정책을 지속해서 확대하기로 했다.

또한, 다양한 지역 교육 수요를 행정에 적극적으로 수용하여 아이들이 안심하고 학업에 전념할 수 있는 교육 환경을 다지는 데 행정력을 모을 방침이다.

위촉식에 참석한 황규철 옥천군수는 인터뷰를 통해 "교육은 옥천의 지속 가능한 미래와 발전을 견인할 가장 핵심적인 동력"이라며 "위원들의 전문성과 교육 현장의 목소리를 정책에 적극적으로 반영해 우리 지역 학생들이 한층 발전된 환경에서 마음껏 꿈을 펼칠 수 있도록 모든 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 밝혔다.

이날 함께 위촉장을 받은 한 위원 역시 현장 인터뷰에서 "아이들의 미래가 걸린 교육 예산을 다루는 만큼 막중한 책임감을 느낀다"며 "지역 내 모든 학교와 학생들이 공평하고 실질적인 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 사업의 타당성을 세심히 검토하겠다"고 소감을 말했다.
