증평군노인복지관이 지역 어르신들의 디지털격차를 해소하고 생성형 인공지능을 활용해 삶의 여정을 예술 작품으로 담아내는 이색 문화예술 교육 프로그램을 선보인다.

증평군노인복지관은 복지관 이용자 및 시니어 유튜버 교육 참여 어르신들을 대상으로 스마트 문화예술교육 프로그램 ‘AI와 그리는 우리 동네’를 개강하고 본격적인 운영에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 11일부터 오는 9월 29일까지 매주 화요일 총 8회차에 걸쳐 진행된다. 생성형 AI 기술과 문화예술 활동을 융합한 이번 프로그램은 어르신들이 살아온 기억과 경험, 증평에서의 일상을 글과 디지털 이미지로 자유롭게 구현할 수 있도록 구성됐다.

수강생들은 생성형 AI 플랫폼인 구글 제미나이(Gemini)를 활용해 대화하는 법부터 시작해 프롬프트 입력, 이미지 생성 및 변환, 저장 과정까지 단계별로 체계적으로 배운다. 어르신들이 직접 촬영한 증평의 골목길, 건물, 풍경, 생활 소품 등을 AI 이미지로 재해석하고, 여기에 어르신들의 감성을 담은 제목과 스토리를 더해 단 하나뿐인 작품을 완성하게 된다. 교육 후반부에는 어르신들이 팀을 이뤄 증평의 이야기와 이웃의 삶을 담은 공동 작품 및 메시지 카드를 제작해 온라인 게시판과 모바일 메신저로 가족, 이웃들과 공유할 예정이다.

증평군노인복지관 관계자는 인터뷰를 통해 "어르신들이 최신 생성형 AI 기술을 단순 지식으로 배우는 데서 나아가, 자신의 삶과 증평이라는 지역적 가치를 예술적 작품으로 완성해가는 과정에 큰 의미가 있다"며 "기존 시니어 유튜버 활동 등으로 다진 디지털 경험이 창작과 이웃 간 소통으로 넓어지는 계기가 되길 바란다"고 말했다.

이번 교육에 참가한 한 어르신 역시 현장 인터뷰에서 "생소했던 인공지능 기술을 이용해 내가 늘 거닐던 증평의 거리를 멋진 그림으로 완성해 보니 신기하고 자부심이 생긴다"며 "멋지게 완성해서 자녀들과 손주들에게도 자랑하고 싶다"고 소감을 밝혔다.
