이번에 마련된 장학금 7천만 원은 지난해 교직원들이 매월 급여에서 1천 원 이상씩 기부해 모은 2,160만 5,500원에 충북사회복지공동모금회의 재원 4,839만 4,500원을 더해 완성됐다. 해당 기금은 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있는 도내 초·중·고등학생 140명에게 1인당 50만 원씩 지급될 예정이다.
