괴산군은 대한민국 매운맛의 기준, 괴산을 주제로 한 2026 괴산고추축제가 3일 괴산 유기농엑스포광장에서 개최되어 오는 6일까지 나흘간 펼쳐진다고 밝혔다. 축제 개막과 함께 운영을 시작한 명품 고추 직판장에는 고품질 괴산 청결고추를 구입하려는 방문객들의 발길이 이어지며 인산인해를 이뤘다.

올해 건고추 600g 기준 판매 가격은 꼭지가 있는 고추가 1만 6,000원, 꼭지를 제거한 고추가 1만 8,000원으로 책정됐다. 현장에서는 고추 구매부터 즉석 방앗간 방아 작업, 차량 이송 지원 및 전국 무료 택배로 이어지는 원스톱 구매 시스템을 구축해 방문객들의 편의를 극대화했다.
