Eumseong County Proves Female Farmers’ Proficiency in Agricultural Machinery… Wins Bronze Medal at National Competition

The "Eumseong Dream" team, composed of four female farmers representing Eumseong County, elevated the region's prestige by winning a bronze medal at the 2nd Female Farmers Agricultural Machinery Challenge Competition held on the 9th.

Organized by the Rural Development Administration, this competition was held to enhance female farmers' ability to utilize agricultural machinery and to promote farming mechanization. Thirty skilled teams from across the country participated in a fierce competition. The main competition covered four specialized categories: furrow formation and mulching using walking cultivators and furrowing/mulching machines; corn seedling planting using semi-automatic transplanters; combine operation guidance and loading/unloading using hand signals; and forward and reverse maneuvering on a U-shaped course with a trailer-attached tractor. In addition to the main events, a variety of side activities, such as an agricultural work runway, a preparation process shorts competition, and a talk concert, were held alongside the main competition, garnering a positive response from the participants. The Eumseong-gun representative team, competing in the event, demonstrated delicate and precise work capabilities and stable driving skills with confidence across all categories. By strictly adhering to safety regulations throughout the entire process, they received excellent evaluations and ultimately won a bronze medal.

After the competition, the participants of the Eumseong-gun team shared their thoughts on the award, stating that it was very meaningful that their practical experience, accumulated by directly handling agricultural machinery in the field, led to such a good result. They also expressed a sense of reward, noting that through this competition, they were able to prove that female farmers can also demonstrate outstanding capabilities as key players in mechanized farming.
