【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주대학교 건축공학과 건축재료·시공연구실이 전국 규모의 학술대회에서 무려 4개의 상을 휩쓸며 독보적인 연구 역량을 증명했다.

청주대학교는 건축재료·시공연구실 소속 연구진이 강원도 속초시 카시아 속초에서 열린 2026년도 사단법인 한국건축시공학회 봄 학술발표대회에 참가해 우수학술상 3건과 특별상인 우수연구실상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

이번 학술대회에서는 대학원생뿐만 아니라 학부 3학년 학생들이 연구의 전 과정에 직접 참여해 결실을 보았다는 점에서 주목받았다. 석사과정 인요한 연구원은 고성능 조강형 시멘트와 내한 촉진제를 적용한 극저온 조건에서의 내한 콘크리트 강도 증진 효과를 주제로 우수학술상을 받았다. 이어 학부생인 백인하 학생은 유지 성능이 향상된 콘크리트의 강도 규격별 경시 변화에 따른 특성을, 권민선 학생은 한중콘크리트 시공 조건에서 블루투스 기반 응결 및 강도 추정계를 활용한 현장 적용 방안을 발표해 각각 우수학술상의 영예를 안았다.

학부생 연구원으로 참여해 수상한 백인하, 권민선 학생은 인터뷰에서 "학부 과정 중에 실험 계획부터 결과 분석, 논문 작성과 발표까지 연구의 전체적인 과정을 직접 경험해 본 것만으로도 값진 자산이었다"며 "현장에서 바로 활용할 수 있는 실용적인 건축재료 연구를 지속해 나가겠다"고 소감을 전했다.

연구실 측은 다수의 뛰어난 연구 논문 발표로 국내 건축시공 기술 발전에 이바지한 공로를 높이 평가받아 한국건축시공학회로부터 우수연구실상까지 받으며 4관왕의 대업을 완성했다.

The Architectural Materials and Construction Research Laboratory of the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cheongju University has demonstrated its unrivaled research capabilities by sweeping a total of four awards at a national academic conference.

Cheongju University announced that researchers from the Architectural Materials and Construction Research Laboratory participated in the 2026 Spring Academic Conference of the Korea Institute of Construction Engineering and Management (KICM), held at Cassia Sokcho in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, and won three Outstanding Academic Awards and a special Outstanding Research Laboratory Award.

The event garnered attention for the fact that not only graduate students but also third-year undergraduate students directly participated in the entire research process to achieve these results. Master's student researcher In Yo-han received an Outstanding Academic Award for his research on the effect of enhancing cold-resistant concrete strength under cryogenic conditions using high-performance rapid-hardening cement and cold resistance accelerators. Subsequently, undergraduate student Baek In-ha was awarded the Outstanding Academic Award for presenting on the characteristics of concrete with improved durability over time according to strength specifications, while undergraduate student Kwon Min-seon was honored for presenting on field application methods utilizing a Bluetooth-based setting and strength estimation system under cold-weather concrete construction conditions.

In an interview, Baek In-ha and Kwon Min-seon, who received awards as undergraduate researchers, shared their thoughts, stating, "Just experiencing the entire research process firsthand during our undergraduate studies—from experimental planning to result analysis, paper writing, and presentation—was a valuable asset." They added, "We will continue to conduct research on practical construction materials that can be immediately utilized in the field."

The research lab completed the feat of winning four awards, receiving the Outstanding Research Lab Award from the Korean Institute of Construction Engineering and Management in recognition of its contributions to the advancement of domestic construction technology through the publication of numerous outstanding research papers.
