Expanding Cloud and AI Education Infrastructure in the Central Region by Partnering with Chungnam Technopark, Namseoul University, and Others
Cheongju University is significantly strengthening its multilateral industry-academia cooperation network to cultivate specialized talent in cloud computing and artificial intelligence in the central region and connect them with local industries.
The Cheongju University Central Region Cloud Computing Education Center has signed a business agreement with Namseoul University’s school enterprise InterVR, the Digital Innovation Group of Chungnam Technopark, and the Chungbuk Regional Human Resources Development Committee to foster specialized talent in cloud and AI convergence.
This agreement was pursued to actively reflect the actual workforce demands of local industries in the curriculum and to create a virtuous cycle of industry-academia cooperation that extends from specialized cloud and AI education to field training, corporate projects, internships, and ultimately, actual employment.
Under the agreement, the four institutions will jointly develop customized educational programs by meticulously analyzing the workforce needs and job functions of local companies. In addition, the program plans to maximize educational effectiveness by linking cloud-based AI practice environments with the specialized infrastructure possessed by each institution.
Participants will build practical skills that enable immediate deployment to the industrial field through experiences such as field training, project-based learning, execution of tasks for manufacturing AI companies, demonstration training, and expert mentoring programs. Furthermore, educational programs, internships, and job matching support will be provided to enhance the job competencies of students, local youth, and working professionals.
The specific roles of each institution have also been defined. Cheongju University’s Central Region Cloud Computing Education Center will oversee the overall curriculum, completion system, practice infrastructure, and trainee management. Namseoul University’s university enterprise, InterVR, will be responsible for field training, digital content support, and the operation of project learning. The Digital Innovation Group at Chungnam Technopark will handle corporate task linkages in the manufacturing AI sector, technical consulting, and recruitment matching, while the Chungbuk Regional Human Resources Development Committee will analyze workforce needs in the local industry and provide employment support through corporate networks.
In addition, the program aims to maximize educational effectiveness by integrating cloud-based AI practice environments with the specialized infrastructure held by each institution. An official from the Central Region Cloud Computing Education Center at Cheongju University stated their intention to closely manage collaboration systems with various organizations to immediately reflect the practical competencies required by companies in the curriculum and to ensure a one-stop connection from practical training and projects to employment for trainees.
Meanwhile, Cheongju University was selected as the Cloud Computing Education Center overseeing the Sejong, Chungnam, Daejeon, and Chungbuk regions with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Information & Communication Technology Industry Promotion Agency (KIPA), and plans to continuously promote digital talent development projects in the central region for the next three years.
