Chungbuk Technopark Spreads Warm Chuseok Spirits Through Traditional Market Revitalization and Sharing
Chungbuk Technopark carried out a meaningful sharing activity to revitalize local traditional markets struggling due to the domestic economic downturn and to spread warmth to marginalized neighbors in time for the Chuseok holiday.
Chungbuk Technopark announced that it visited Jincheon Traditional Market to hold a holiday shopping event and donated items purchased on-site to vulnerable groups in the region.
This event was planned as part of the "Establishment of a Collaborative Ecosystem with the Local Community," an ESG management initiative currently being pursued by Chungbuk Technopark. It was organized to encourage small business owners facing a contraction in commercial activity due to dampened consumer sentiment and to foster a positive local consumption atmosphere.
On this day, employees toured Jincheon Traditional Market in person to purchase daily necessities and winter clothing needed for the holiday, thereby boosting the vitality of the merchants.
In particular, items purchased at traditional markets were delivered to vulnerable neighbors in need within the district through the Ochang-eup Administrative Welfare Center, achieving a win-win effect that simultaneously revitalized local commerce and supported welfare.
An official from Chungbuk Technopark expressed hope that this shopping event provided at least some small assistance to small business owners in traditional markets who are facing difficulties ahead of the holidays. The official added that they will continue to discover diverse ESG activities that foster mutual growth with the local community, consistently contributing to the spread of a culture of sharing and the revitalization of the local economy.
