【브레이크뉴스 충북】임창용 기자=청주 강내농협(조합장 조방형) 조합원과 직원(계장 서민정)이 기지를 발휘하여 보이스피싱범을 검거해 3일 오후 흥덕경찰서(서장 이상수)로부터 감사패를 받았다.

지난 10월 22일 강내면에 사는 조합원 A씨(70대, 남자)는 “아들이 돈을 갚지 않아 납치했으니, 현금 수천만원을 달라”는 전화를 받았다.

마침 옆에 있던 아내가 아들에게 연락을 취해 사기임을 눈치 챈 A씨는 범인을 검거해야겠다는 마음을 먹었다.

이에 우선 112에 신고를 한 후, 강내농협을 방문해 서민정 계장과 사전에 보이스피싱임을 알려주고 범인과 통화를 하면서 돈 세는 소리 등을 들려주며 돈을 인출하는 것처럼 했다.

돈다발 대신 탁상달력 등을 돈 봉투에 가득 넣은 A씨는 보이스피싱 현금 수거책(외국인, 30대)과 만나기로 한 청주시 가경동으로 갔고, 대기하고 있던 경찰관들이 범인을 현장에서 붙잡았다.

서민정 직원은 “평소 보이스피싱 범죄예방에 대한 사내교육을 꾸준히 받아왔고, 평소 자주 뵜던 조합원님이 기지를 발휘해 주셔서 범인을 검거하게 되었다”며 “어르신 고객이 많이 찾아오시는 만큼 앞으로도 친절하고 세심한 응대로 고객의 소중한 재산을 지켜드리도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

한편 충북농협(본부장 염기동)은 경찰청과 합동으로 금융사기예방 캠페인을 연중 실시하고, 전 임직원 대상 사이버 교육 등을 통해 대고객 보이스피싱 피해 예방에 적극 노력하고 있다.
