이들 폭주족 대부분은 10대 청소년으로 마스크를 쓰고 오토바이 번호판을 떼거나 테이프로 가리는 방법으로 검거를 피하려 하였지만, 경찰은 채증된 영상자료를 정밀 분석하고 오토바이 특징점을 포착하여 관련 업체 탐문수사 및 CCTV 영상자료를 추가 확인하는 등 수사활동으로 도주한 운전자 대부분을 검거했다.
