최근 주택, 산업단지, 등산로 등 화재 발생 건수가 증가해 많은 피해가 발생하고 있어 주의가 요구되고 있다. 

이에 따라 군은 군민의 안전 의식을 고취하고자 캠페인을 전개했으며, 봄철 화재 관련 체크리스트 홍보물을 배부했다.

또한 지난 2월 군민안전보험을 갱신을 완료해 자연재해뿐만 아니라 사회재난 인명피해에 대해 보상항목을 추가하는 등 군민안전보험의 적극적인 홍보에 나섰으며 재난 관련 보험인 군민안전보험, 풍수해보험, 재난배상책임보험 3종을 함께 소개하는 홍보물을 배포했다. 

박노학 부군수는 “대한민국 안전大전환을 위해 일상 속의 위험에 대해 다시 한번 되돌아보고, 작은 화재가 대형 화재가 될 수 있으므로 군민들의 철저한 대비가 중요하다”고 강조했다.
