  과수화상병 예방 방법으로는 농작업 후 전정 도구는 70% 알코올이나 락스를 희석한 소독액(20배 희석)에 소독해 병원균의 전파를 예방해야 한다. 

  또한, 화상병 유사 궤양 증상 가지는 40~70cm 아래 절단 후 약제를 도포해야 하며, 낙엽, 잔재물 등을 제거하고 과원 내 환경을 청결히 유지해 병원균의 생존 환경을 없애야 한다.
