【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주시는 7일 새벽 2시 35분 34초에 발생한 지진과 관련하여 오전 7시 긴급 대책 회의를 개최하고 시민 안전을 위한 대응 방안을 논의했다.

이날 회의는 김진석 부시장이 주재했으며, 행정안전부 국립재난안전연구원 지진방재센터장, 지진방재정책과 연구원, 시청 국과장 및 실과소장 등  30여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

이번 지진은 충주시 앙성면 영죽리 산47번지 일원(충주시 북서쪽 22㎞ 지역)에서 규모 3.1로 발생했다. 

다행히 인명 및 재산 피해는 전혀 발생하지 않았으며, 단순히 지진을 체감했다는 신고만 접수됐다.

지진 대응 주요 논의 사항으로는 △신속한 피해 현황 파악 및 복구 지원 △안전 점검 강화 △시민 안전 행동 요령 전파 △유관기관 협력 체계 강화 △향후 여진에 대비한 지속적인 대비책 마련 등이 포함됐다.

또한, 여진에 대비해 마을 인근 대피장소를 사전에 준비하고, 각 학교와 협조하여 학교 운동장을 개방하는 방안을 모색할 것을 주문했다.

김진석 부시장은 “다행히 지진 피해는 없지만, 지진 발생 시에는 신속한 대응이 가장 중요하다”며, “지진으로 인한 철저한 점검과 신속한 피해 복구를 통해 시민의 불안을 해소하고 지속적인 대비책을 마련해야 한다”고 강조했다.

아울러 “충주시는 앞으로도 지속적인 대비책 마련과 시민 안전 강화를 위한 노력을 이어 나갈 방침”이며, “시민들도 지진 발생 시 행동 요령을 숙지하고 적극적으로 협조해 주시기를 바란다”고 당부했다.

한편, 이날 오전 2시 35분 기상청은 충북지역에 긴급 재난 문자를 통해서 '충북 충주시 북서쪽 22km지역 M4.2 지진 발생, 낙화물, 여진주의'를 알리는 국민재난안전 문자를 3회에 걸쳐 발송했다.
