【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 도내 출생아 수 증가율 1위를 기록 중인 진천군이 지역 학부모들의 마음을 사로잡는 청소년 맞춤 정책을 펼치며 지속 가능한 인구증가 모델을 강화하고 있다.

  청소년의 안정적인 성장을 위한 환경이 인구증가 허리를 강화하는 가장 빠른 길이라는 군의 판단에서다.

  2024년 12월 말 기준 진천군 청소년(9~24세) 인구는 전체 인구 86,537명의 14.9%인 12,880명을 기록 중이다.

  이는 청주시에 이어 두 번째 높은 수치로 전국적인 출산율 하락 상황에서도 10년 전인 2015년 초 11,500여 명에서 1,400여 명인 12%가 증가했다.

  군은 이러한 청소년 인구 증가세를 더욱 강화하기 위해 청소년들의 니즈(Needs)를 만족시킬 수 있는 청소년 활동 프로그램 개발과 관련 인프라 확충에 최선을 다하고 있다.

  대표적으로 변화하는 청소년들의 관심사에 대응하기 위해 2024년부터 운영 중인 ‘아리아리 동(同)동(動)’ 프로그램이 있다.

  해당 프로그램은 △여가‧레저 △문화·예술 △생활체육 △진로·직업 4개 영역으로 나뉘며 열기구 체험, 고카트레이스, 국가대표와 함께하는 사격체험, 약사체험 등 25개의 특색있는 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

  평소 쉽게 접할 수 없는 새로운 경험을 제공함으로써 지역의 부족한 인프라에 대한 청소년들의 갈증을 해소하는 계기가 되고 있으며 인근 시·군 주민들의 부러움을 사고 있다.

  군 최초 청소년 수련시설으로 차별화된 수련 활동 인증프로그램 운영과 쾌적한 수련환경 덕분에 이용자가 꾸준히 증가하고 있다.

  청소년자치기구, 청소년참여예산제, 청소년 동아리 등 청소년이 주인공이 되는 다양한 활동 기회를 제공해 사회 구성원으로서의 올바른 가치관 형성을 돕고 있다.

  또한, 매년 ‘생거진천 미래지기축제’ 를 개최해 청소년들이 관심사를 노력을 통해 발산할 수 있는 희망의 장을 마련하고 있다.

  이에 더해 올해 상반기 충북혁신도시에 조성한 ‘꿈 자람터’를 새롭게 선보인다.

  전국 최초 진로와 스포츠를 융합한 공간으로 진로 체험관, AR 스포츠 체험관, 다목적 체육관 등 교과 과정에서 경험할 수 없는 일상을 선물할 예정이다.
