 새롭게 시작하는 이번 사업은 신축 아파트로 인한 젊은 세대의 유입이 많은 교동‧장락동의 지역적 특성을 반영하여, 인구 증가 특수 시책 및 출산 장려 분위기 조성을 위해 관내 출생신고 시 아동 보행기화를 선물할 계획이다.

  노의재 위원장은 “현재 제천시 17개 읍면동 중 인구가 가장 많은 교동의 특성을 반영한 이번 신규사업에 기대가 크다”며 “세상에 건강하게 첫발을 디딘 아이들의 미래를 교동 주민들이 다함께 응원하는 뜻깊은 선물이 되었으면 좋겠다”고 전했다. 

 한편, 교동지역사회보장협의체는 올 한해 ‘저소득층 소형 가전 긴급 지원, 거동불편 노인 지팡이 지원, 고독사 위험군 건강검진’ 등 다양한 계층의 복지 향상을 위한 새로운 사업을 고루 시행하여 복지사각지대 해소 및 지역주민의 복지 체감도 향상에 힘쓸 예정이다.
