【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북도는 12일 충북학사 서서울관에서 청주공항 민간전용 활주로 건설을 비롯한 핵심 현안사업의 제도적 지원과 2026년도 정부예산 반영을 논의하기 위해 충북 지역 국회의원 초청 예산정책간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

 이번 간담회에는 여야를 초월해 이강일·이광희·송재봉·이종배·엄태영·박덕흠 의원이 참석하여, 충북의 주요 현안 해결을 위한 실질적인 방안을 논의하고 협력의 뜻을 함께했다. 

 충북도는 이번 회의에서 ▲청주국제공항 민간전용 활주로 건설 ▲AI바이오(노화) 거점, K-바이오스퀘어 예타면제 ▲수도권 공공기관 2차 이전 ▲청주공항~김천 철도 건설 ▲청주공항~신탄진 광역철도 건설 ▲중부권 광역급행철도(JTX) 조기 건설 등 13개 현안사업을 건의하며, 충북을 중심으로 한 국가 균형발전 전략 전환의 필요성을 강조했다. 

 또한, 내년도 정부예산에 ▲KAIST 부설 AI BIO 영재학교 설립 ▲서울대병원 R&D 임상병원 설립 ▲충주댐 수열에너지 특화단지 조성사업 등 30개 핵심 사업이 반영될 수 있도록 충북 지역 국회의원과 협의하고, 향후 국회 상임위 및 예결특위 개최 시 단계별 대응을 강화해 나가기로 했다.

 김영환 지사는 이날 간담회에서 “충북에 대한 제도적·재정적 지원이 뒷받침된다면, 충북은 국가균형발전의 핵심축이자 대한민국 신성장동력의 중심으로 도약할 수 있다”며 “도와 국회가 한 팀이 되어 충북의 미래를 여는 제도 마련과 예산 확보에 총력을 다해야 한다”고 말했다.

 한편, 충북도는 SOC, 바이오, 전략산업 등 주요 핵심 프로젝트가 원활히 추진될 수 있도록 지역 국회의원과 지속적으로 협력하는 등 모든 역량을 집중한다는 계획이다.

They emphasized the need for a shift in national balanced development strategy centered on North Chungcheong Province.

Furthermore, the province agreed to consult with local National Assembly members to ensure that 30 key projects, including ▲ the establishment of the KAIST-affiliated AI BIO Gifted School; ▲ the establishment of the Seoul National University Hospital R&D Clinical Hospital; and ▲ the Chungju Dam Hydrothermal Energy Complex, are reflected in next year's government budget. They also agreed to strengthen their phased response during future National Assembly standing committee and Budget and Accounts Special Committee meetings.

At the meeting, Governor Kim Young-hwan stated, "If North Chungcheong Province receives institutional and financial support, it can become a key axis of balanced national development and a focal point for new growth engines in the Republic of Korea."
