충시키는 국내 기술에 기반한 수소 공급망을 구축하는 ‘수소배관망 국산화 실증 사업’과 청정 수력을 활용하는 ‘충주댐 수력 기반 그린수소 인프라 구축 사업’을 두 축으로 삼아 지역 수소경제 활성화와 탄소중립 실현을 적극 추진하고 있다.

먼저 수소배관망 국산화 실증 개발 사업은 원익머트리얼즈 충주사업장에서 특장차 수소파워팩 센터까지 총 2km 구간에 국산 수소 공급 배관을 설치하는 사업으로, 지난 14일 업무협약을 마무리하고 본격적인 착수를 앞두고 있다. 특히 이번 사업은 총사업비 51억 원 전액을 국비로 확보하여 시 재정 부담을 대폭 줄였다.

이와 함께 청정에너지인 수력을 이용해 수전해 방식으로 그린수소를 생산·공급하는 충주댐 수력 기반 그린수소 인프라 구축 사업은 올해 상반기 실시설계를 완료한 데 이어 최근 수전해 장비 발주를 마치고 본격적인 조성 단계에 들어섰다. 내년부터는 드림파크 산업단지 내 토목 공사가 시작될 예정이다.
