기탁식에 참석한 원성역 사장은 “증평군과 함께 성장하고 있는 우리 에듀팜 특구가 더욱 더 상생발전할 수 있도록 증평군의 미래를 이끌어갈 인재들을 위해 장학금을 전달한다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 사회공헌 활동과 환원할 수 있는 방향을 모색해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
홍성열 증평군수는 “코로나19로 모두 힘든 시기에도 증평군의 미래를 위해 관심을 가지고 사회공헌 활동을 이어가주셔서 감사드린다”며 “기탁해주신 장학금은 지역 학생들이 어려움을 극복하고 사회 구성원으로 당당하게 성장하는데 디딤돌이 될 것이다”고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
한편 에듀팜 특구 조성사업은 지난해 6월 골프장, 루지, 한옥식당, 수상레저 등 일부 시설을 개장했으며, 올해 9월말까지 19만 4천명이 방문하는 등 중부권 핵심관광단지로 성공적으로 안착하고 있다.
2022년까지 관광단지 내에 섬머랜드, e레포츠체험장, 헬스케어센터 등 모든 시설을 조성한다는 계획이다.
