【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=국립한국교통대학교(총장 윤승조)는 국립한국교통대학교와 충북대학교가 합의한 통합 원칙에 따른 미래지향적인 통합대학 교명의 제정을 위하여 진행된 ‘통합대학 교명 아이디어 공모전’ 수상작을 18일 발표했다고 밝혔다.

지난 4월 22일부터 2주간 진행된 ‘통합대학 교명 아이디어 공모전’은 기존 교명을 제외한 새로운 교명을 도출하기 위하여 시행되었다. 300여 개의 아이디어가 접수되었으며, 관련 분야 전문가 및 국립한국교통대학교 교명선정위원회의 심의를 통해 총장상 1점을 포함하여 총 19개의 아이디어를 최종 선정했다. 

심사결과, 총장상에는 안전공학과 홍성원 교수가 제안한 ‘한국국립대학교’가 선정되었으며, 대한민국을 대표하는 국립대로 만들고자 하는 의지를 담고자 본 아이디어를 제안했다고 하며, 그 외에도 국립중앙과학기술대학교, 한국과학기술대학교 등 다양하고 참신한 아이디어가 선정되었다. 자세한 선정결과는 국립한국교통대학교 홈페이지를 통해 확인 가능하다.

국립한국교통대학교 윤승조 총장은 “글로컬대학30 사업의 일환으로 추진 중인 통합대학의 새로운 이름을 위해 공모전에 참여해 주신 대학구성원들께 감사드린다”며, “제안된 아이디어는 우리대학과 충북대학교와의 통합 추진 과정에서 양 대학 간에 합의된 원칙에 따라 통합대학 교명을 선정하는 데 귀중한 자료로 활용될 것이다”라고 밝혔다.
