【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천교육지원청(교육장 김인권)은 2월 5일부터 7일까지 2박 3일간 '정지용학교 2기 방학캠프'를 개최하고, 글로벌 인재 양성에 박차를 가하고 있다.

이번 캠프는 학생들이 주제 중심 외국어교육, 비경쟁독서토론, 공동체활동, 인문학 주제특강 등 다채로운 교육 활동에 참여하여 의사소통 역량과 세계시민 역량을 함양하는데 중점을 두고 있다.

 정지용학교는 옥천군(군수 황규철)과 협력하여 문화예술에 관심 있는 지역 초·중등 학생 48명을 선발, 2년간 국내외를 연계하여 운영하는 지역특화 인재 양성 프로그램이다. 2024년 진행된 국내프로그램에서 학생들은 지역의 역사와 문화를 이해하고, 정지용 시인의 문학을 통해 인문학적 소양을 키웠다.

 국외프로그램은 오는 7월 싱가포르에서 진행될 예정이다. 학생들은 싱가포르 학교에서 인문학 교류활동에 참여하고, 대학 및 문화예술 교육기관을 탐방하여 국제적인 시각과 글로벌 역량을 키울 것으로 기대된다.

옥천교육지원청 김인권 교육장은 "이번 방학캠프를 통해 학생들이 외국어 역량을 키우는 것뿐만 아니라, 소통과 협력의 교육 활동을 통해 글로벌 매너를 함양할 수 있을 것"이라며, "앞으로도 옥천 지역 학생들의 글로벌 역량 강화에 최선을 다할 것"이라고 밝혔다.

Okcheon Office of Education Holds ‘Jeong Ji-yong School 2nd Vacation Camp’ to Foster Global Talent

Okcheon Office of Education (Superintendent Kim In-kwon) is holding the ‘Jeong Ji-yong School 2nd Vacation Camp’ for 2 nights and 3 days from February 5 to 7, and is spurring the cultivation of global talent.

This camp focuses on fostering communication skills and global citizenship skills by having students participate in various educational activities such as topic-centered foreign language education, non-competitive reading discussions, community activities, and humanities-themed special lectures.

Jeong Ji-yong School is a regional talent cultivation program that selects 48 local elementary and middle school students interested in culture and arts in cooperation with Okcheon-gun (Governor Hwang Gyu-cheol) and operates domestically and internationally for 2 years. In the domestic program held in 2024, students understood the history and culture of the region and developed humanities knowledge through the literature of poet Jeong Ji-yong.

The overseas program is scheduled to be held in Singapore in July. Students are expected to develop international perspectives and global capabilities by participating in humanities exchange activities at Singaporean schools and visiting universities and cultural and arts education institutions.
