【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청 직속기관 국제교육원(원장 김흥준) 청주운영팀은 7일, 원어민 영어보조교사와 함께 단계별 맞춤형 프로그램에 따라 의사소통 능력을 심화하는 <점프업 English 1기> 과정 참가자를 모집한다고 밝혔다.

모집 기간은 10일(월)부터 오는 28일(금)까지 국제교육원 누리집을 통해 신청이 가능하며 대상은 청주시 초등학교 4~6학년이다.

프로그램은 초급‧중급‧고급 3단계로 구성되어 있어 참가자가 본인 수준에 맞는 학급을 신청할 수 있다.

초급반은 상황별 듣기‧말하기를, 중급반과 고급반은 듣기‧말하기‧읽기‧쓰기 중심 의사소통 활동을 통해 학습하게 된다.

점프업 English 1기는 오는 3월 11일(화)부터 25일(화)까지 화‧목요일 오후 4시부터 5시 30분까지 운영한다. 

김흥준 국제교육원장은 “수준별 영어교육을 제공함으로써 교육 수요자 만족도를 높이고, 다양한 주제의 활동 중심 프로그램을 통해 미래인재가 갖추어야 할 주요 역량인 의사소통과 비판적 사고능력을 키울 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.”며, “영어 의사소통에 관심 있는 학생들의 많은 참여를 바란다.”라고 말했다.

Level-based English classes with native English-speaking teachers

The International Education Center (Director Kim Heung-jun), an organization directly affiliated with the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education, announced on the 7th that it is recruiting participants for the <Jump Up English 1st Class> course, which deepens communication skills through a step-by-step customized program with native English-speaking assistant teachers.

The application period is from Monday the 10th to Friday the 28th, and applications can be made through the International Education Center website. The target students are elementary school students in grades 4-6 in Cheongju City.

The program consists of three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced, so participants can apply for a class that suits their level.

The beginner class will learn through situation-based listening and speaking, while the intermediate and advanced classes will learn through communication activities centered on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Jump Up English 1st term will be held from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 11th (Tuesday) to March 25th (Tuesday).

Director of International Education Kim Heung-jun said, “By providing English education by level, we expect to increase education demand satisfaction and foster communication and critical thinking skills, which are key competencies that future talents should have, through activity-centered programs with various topics.” He added, “We hope that many students interested in English communication will participate.”
