【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 지역의 대표적인 여름철 가족 휴식 공간인 ‘첨벙첨벙물놀이장’의 시설 개선과 확충 사업에 속도를 내고 있다.

증평읍 송산리 보강천 미루나무숲 일원에 위치한 첨벙첨벙물놀이장은 매년 여름 어린이와 가족 단위 피서객들에게 큰 인기를 끌어온 야외 물놀이 시설이다.

군은 주민들에게 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 물놀이 환경을 제공하기 위해 총사업비 3억 8,000만 원을 투입해 대대적인 정비 사업을 벌이고 있다. 이번 사업은 노후화된 기존 물놀이 시설의 전반적인 보수와 함께, 이용객 분산을 위해 기존 물놀이장 옆에 신규 풀장을 추가로 조성하는 것을 골자로 한다. 새로운 풀장이 완공되면 성수기 인파 혼잡이 완화되어 이용객들이 한층 여유롭게 물놀이를 즐길 수 있을 것으로 보인다.
