음성군은 2023년부터 2028년까지 총 329억 원을 투입해 관내 5개 소하천을 전면 정비하는 치수 사업을 추진 중이다. 대상지는 호우 때마다 범람 우려가 제기돼 온 맹동면 찬샘골 소하천을 비롯해 소이면 갑산, 맹동면 마산, 금왕읍 절골, 금왕읍 삼선 소하천 등 5개 구간이다. 군은 호안블럭 정비, 제방 보강, 배수 기능 개선을 동시에 추진해 홍수 피해를 근본적으로 차단하는 데 중점을 두고 있다.
