【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군이 6월 1일부터 관내 공영주차장 3개소를 대상으로 차량 5부제를 시행한다.  5부제가 적용되는 주차장은 금구공영주차타워, 옥천공설시장 주차타워, 창의어울림센터 주차장이다. 

차량 번호판 끝자리를 기준으로 요일별 출입을 제한하는 방식으로 운영된다. 적용 시간은 평일 오전 9시부터 오후 5시까지이며, 토요일과 일요일, 공휴일에는 시행하지 않는다.  

다만 일부 차량은 교통 약자 편의와 특수 목적을 고려해 제외된다. 장애인, 국가유공자, 임산부, 미취학 유아 동승 차량을 비롯해 전기차와 수소차 등 친환경 차량은 적용 대상에서 빠진다. 긴급·의료·경찰·소방 등 특수 목적 차량과 공공기관장이 필요성을 인정한 차량도 예외적으로 출입할 수 있다.  

군은 제도 시행에 따른 이용객들의 혼선을 최소화하기 위해 현수막 설치와 사전 홍보를 진행하고 상주 관리 인력에 대한 교육을 마쳤다. 본격적인 시행 이후에도 이용 현황을 면밀히 살피고 민원 발생 여부를 지속해서 관리할 방침이다.
